Monitoring and conservation of key values in Pelister National Park

With Utmost pleasure, we express our sincere gratitude to the PONT Foundation for their support over the past years and the financial investment granted to the Pelister National Park through the signing of the Grant Agreement for the Monitoring and Conservation of Key Values in the Pelister National Park for the next three years.
This grant marks a significant moment in our mission to protect nature and biodiversity. With this financial support, we will have the opportunity to enhance our monitoring and conservation activities for the key values and improve park management.
This support allows us to focus on the exceptional values of the park and safeguard them for future generations. This grant not only contributes financially but also instills in us confidence and inspiration to continue our work in nature conservation.
 

Pelister National Park feeds game during the winter

 In the Pelister National Park, feeding is carried out in the winter period (December and January). Due to the extraordinary weather conditions, we performed additional feeding. Feeding is carried out because there is a shortage of food in the winter period. The activity is carried out with corn, wheat for small and large mamals .Hundreds of kilograms of food grains were left at several positions in the PELISTER locality.
   

 

Financial support from the Prespa – Ohrid Nature Fund (PONT) for the purchase of new uniforms and shoes for the employees of the technical department in the National Park Pelister

For a long period of time, the employees of the technical department in the Pelister National Park did not receive uniforms. Thanks to the financial support from the nature fund Prespa-Ohrid (PONT), financial resources were provided and new uniforms and shoes were purchased for the employees of the technical department in the Pelister National Park.
   

 

Delivery of the project supported by INTERREG IPA Program for Cross-border Cooperation Greece – North Macedonia 2014-2020

On 07.12.2023 in the Pelister National Park, the project supported by the INTERREG IPA Program for Cross-border Cooperation Greece – North Macedonia 2014-2020 was handed over, in which the Youth Christian Association – Thessaloniki/YMCA Thessaloniki, the Greek National Tourism Organization/GNTO and JU National Park Pelister – Bitola.

The construction activities of the adventure park were carried out by the company Balkan-Net Logistics Bitola.

Namely, it is about the realization and completion of the project “Construction of an adrenaline park for adults and children, and Via Ferrata and Zip Line”, Location “Pelister National Park” within 12 months.

The technical reception was attended by the National Park team led by director Malic Sesmedini, project manager Milcho Duli, supervising engineer Vladimir Jovevski, together with representatives from the contractor company Balkan-Net Logistics Bitola. An inspection was made at all 4 locations and it was determined that all activities with the mutual agreement have been fully implemented.

   

It remains until the end of this year to close the financial part of the project, which is fully financed by the European Union.

With great joy, we would like to inform the Bitola public that with the arrival of the spring months of the coming year, the people of Bitola, and the entire region and beyond, will be able to have fun and recreate at these attractive locations.
