FESTIVAL OF THE VLACH CULTURE IN MALOVISHTA

On August 10 this year, the Bitola’s village Malovishta hosted the international “Ethno Festival Malovishta 2003”, which is already a traditional memory of Vlach culture and tradition. The festival is organized by the Association for Sustainable Development of Malovishta and the sub-Pelister villages EKE from Bitola, in cooperation with the Local Community and the Church Board from Malovishta and the Commune of the Vlachs “Manaki Brothers” from Bitola.

This very interesting event was held under the auspices of the mayors of the municipality of Capari, Mr. Jordan Staninovski and Bitola, Mr. Zlatko Vrskovski, and it was attended by cultural and artistic societies from Macedonia, Romania, Greece, Bulgaria, Albania and Serbia, as well as several artists from Macedonia.

Within the festival, the exhibition “Malovishta, a tradition that lasts” was opened as part of another project of the association EKE, within the program “Living Heritage” of the Foundation Open Society Institute – Macedonia and the King Boduen Foundation – Belgium. M.I.

Ethno Festival “Malovishta 2008” to be held in Bitola

Bitola, July 24 (MIA) – The traditional ethno festival “Malovishta 2008” will be held for the seventh time this weekend in the Bitola’s, sub-Pelister village Malovishta.

– The festival is organized as a celebration of the Vlach tradition and aims to affirm the village Malovishta as the only settlement in the National Park “Pelister”, but also to affirm Vlach culture, said at today’s press conference in Bitola Risto Paligora, director of the festival.

According to the program, an exhibition of works from “Small Bitola Montmartre” will be opened on Friday night, motivated by the landscapes of Malovishta, as a precursor to the evening of Vlach song and music.

On Saturday, organizers are announcing an evening of Vlach poetry, as well as the promotion of two books.

– This year we will promote the books “Molovishte-Chronology of the village” by Niko Popnikola and “Love for the homeland – selected poetry” by Victoria Tola, said Paligora.
