Mammals

The total number of mammal species in NP Pelister is 47, determined by literary data and field research. That figure represents about 53% of the total number of mammal species in the RN Macedonia.

Most of the data are for large mammals, as they were the subject of research conducted in the area as part of several projects in the period 2009-2018.

Of the total number of registered species, 3 are new to Pelister, which are not found in the literature: Myotis myotis, Pipistrellus nathusii and Pipistrellus pygmaeus.
