{"id":292,"date":"2020-04-28T09:02:58","date_gmt":"2020-04-28T09:02:58","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/pelister\/?page_id=292"},"modified":"2020-09-09T19:17:38","modified_gmt":"2020-09-09T19:17:38","slug":"churces","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/park-pelister.com\/en\/churces\/","title":{"rendered":"Churches and monasteries"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Churches and monasteries in the region of NP Pelister and Baba Planina<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In NP Pelister and sub-Pelister region (Bitola and Prespa part) as village or monastery churches, there are about 40 (forty) buildings, widely dated between XI to the end of the XIX century.<\/p>\n<p>Hundreds of square meters of frescoes and about 1,000 pieces of icons from the late Byzantine period and the Renaissance have been placed in those temples.<\/p>\n<p>The knowledge and expert analysis so far undoubtedly confirms that certain specimens of this imposing fund of cultural monuments may be among the most brilliant artistic achievements in history in the wider region.<\/p>\n<p>By publishing the basic data for these monuments, another important page for the values \u200b\u200bcontained in the region of NP Pelister is undoubtedly affirmed.<\/p>\n<p><strong>The oldest and most important church monument in the vicinity of NP Pelister is the Church of St. George in Kurbinovo, dating from 1191 (12th century).<\/strong> The monastery of St. In 1952, Gorgi was declared a cultural monument.<\/p>\n<p><strong><img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1135\" src=\"http:\/\/pelister.development.ivote.mk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/DSC04193-1-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"399\" height=\"266\" srcset=\"https:\/\/park-pelister.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/DSC04193-1-300x200.jpg 300w, https:\/\/park-pelister.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/DSC04193-1.jpg 640w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 399px) 100vw, 399px\" \/>\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 <img loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-1150\" src=\"http:\/\/pelister.development.ivote.mk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/DSC04212-2-296x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"265\" height=\"269\" srcset=\"https:\/\/park-pelister.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/DSC04212-2-296x300.jpg 296w, https:\/\/park-pelister.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/DSC04212-2.jpg 480w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 265px) 100vw, 265px\" \/>\u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>For the great importance of this monument, read more on the website of the Prespa &#8211; Pelagonija Orthodox Diocese (http:\/\/www.pppe.mk\/2017\/sveti-gorgi-kurbinovo-renesansniot-biser-na-prespa\/)<\/p>\n<p><strong>In the village of Malovishte &#8211; the only village located within the borders of NP Pelister,<\/strong> there are several important church monuments, namely: the imposing church of St. Petka &#8211; built in 1856, which houses a permanent gallery of icons with about 100 specimens in chronological range of approximately 400 years, then the Monastery of St. Ana, at 1,410 m asl, and at 2, 5 km. southwest of the village of Malovishte.
